YouTube Channel Changes!
Hey Everyone, well fun COVID days right? After months of this nonsense in the states tensions are running high all over and this has caused me to reflect on why I came to try to do “my thing” here and on Youtube. When I was a kid nothing beat Saturday Morning. I would wake usually around 6am to catch ‘old cartoons’ like Johnny Quest only to ride the morning out with shows like SuperFriends or even Land of The Lost. Only thing that came close to me was visiting family that lived in Baltimore. OOOO the new TV channels I would discover. The days of UHF independent TV ment re-runs of all kinds leading to long summer days of George Reeves Superman and classic Filmation Cartoons. Even as a young adult fond memories tie me to those Fox Kids Day of Xmen, The Tick, Spiderman and Batman. It all just ‘smells good’. Like a sugary cereal on one of those Saturday Mornings. This brings u to now.
I really love reporting all the good news happening, this is the golden age of media for superheroes...but honestly the toxicity and baloney factor of most scoops, rumors and just BS is a bit overwhelming. There are some SOLID people out there trying to do good things..but for the most part I see a bunch of people gaming for a very slim spot and willing to say or do anything to unseat the current occupant. I don't want any parts of it. I’m going to keep bringing you news, but we are just moving away from rumors and scoops. If it's not in a trade, it probably wont be covered here. This “WGTC'' method has ruined this part of the internet and i feel like stepping away from it. It's weak, sad and worse creates conflict. Then there is no negative action to follow...either one of fifty rumors turns out to be true and they dance around claiming they were right, or worse get called out by an actual creator and then get the free publicity that again leading to the lame dancing around like an arse celebrating the attention. All of it just simply not who i am...
There is this negative “cloud of clicks” that I have never wanted a real part of and I feel like is fed by this ‘my scoop’ mentality thats so easy to chase. Everyone needs friends, and honestly some of mine are the best humans on the planet especially those i’ve met in this community on social media...but when i see the scoop wars. and most of them are wrong btw, i just feel like who cares at this expense. Except it just creates negativity amongst many people that i like, care about, and wish success on. Competition can breed this, and I am a competitive person, but backbiting and seeking conflict does not meet the Rogers standard in my book. You Know the Rogers Standard... Steve or Fred. None of this is how the heroes we all gather to celebrate act so im trying to figure out for the life of me how its ok.
I’m going to still cover news, this great generation of shows & films, and even evidence based unconfirmed reports, but unless it's a real source or a vetted source it's out for us. We really are not going to be associated with any sites, groups, clicks or other things like that. People have been great to us and we have always tried to reciprocate, but we really want to stand on our own hill with our own brand. A positive place that focuses on the good and the truth, the aforementioned “Rogers” Standard. Both would see the good in all and excuse themselves.
Instead look here for more character breakdown, story or production focused videos, analysis, and history to take its place. More character pieces, more show/comic comparisons, more review, and more documentary pieces about all the characters & stories we really love. I really hope you will join me on this journey into some new and better places and a focus on the positive that made me love all these characters in the first place. Peace!
